In the late 90s she began to act in television, and in the years since has been in a variety of films, including The Woods Blue Car Murder by Numbers Blood and Chocolate and The Anna Nicole Story. Bruckner started her acting career at the age of was eleven years old. She was a part of commercials in several television pilots, and on the daytime soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful in 1999. At the age of 15 Bruckner received her first lead role in the independent documentary Blue Car (2002) in which she portrayed a high school student involved in an affair with a teacher, played by David Strathairn. Roger Ebert, a film reviewer, wrote that Bruckner did a fantastic job in this difficult script with total conviction. Bruckner got the Independent Spirit Award nomination for "Best Female Lead" for this character. She was raised with her three siblings: one brother and two sisters. Her mother tongue was Hungarian as she often trained in the language to become at a high level. Bruckner is a famous Hollywood Californian born daughter of a Hungarian dad and Russian mom. Her maternal grandparents are German. Her parents grew up in Hungary before emigrating in the U.S. in 1984 through a refugee camp in Italy. Her siblings include two brothers. She have two sisters.
